UoP celebrates cultural diversity

During March, UoP is celebrating cultures from around the world.  With students from over 140 different countries studying here, there is a wealth of cultural experiences to draw upon and celebrate.  This month a variety of events are planned including an african drumming workshop, a culinary celebration of different cultures, public lectures, staff training workshops, a quiz night, a visit to a safari park and a fashion parade.  A full program of events is available here.

A much anticipated highlight will be the Festival of Cultures, held on Wednesday 22 March in 3rd Space, Students’ Union, from 5.30pm to 9.00 pm.  This festival features dance performances from countries across the world, including the Dominican Republic, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Nepal, Iran and Malaysia. Attendees are invited to wear their national dress and will also have the oppotunity to taste food from around the world.  No tickets are required, but you can sign up or see more details on the Facebook page.

Who knows where a getting taste for other cultures could lead you!
